The original diet

January 13, 2010

Even the animals were vegetarian.

Genesis 1:29-30

29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Just googled this to find more supporting information.

Indeed, “carnivorous” animals can live primarily on vegetarian diets, even lions.

That doesn’t say ‘only green plants’. it’s merely saying that’s something he gave as food – (which is probably a great idea, and good and healthy since it’s God-ordained food…) at least to me.

Sure… it doesn’t say only green plants. But if He gave us meat to eat, then He would have mentioned it. Remember, there was NO death in Eden. Meat-eating implies killing something. Therefore, one can safely conclude that God only gave us fruits nuts and veggies in Eden.

Ezekial 4:9 also tells us what grains God intended us to eat. Notice they’re all super high in fibre =]
