Upcoming Debate: Are Christians Obligated to observe the 7th day Sabbath today?

December 22, 2009

Come join us to find out whether Christians today should still keep the 4th commandment to “keep the Sabbath day holy”. Our speakers will discuss whether God’s commandment is still binding today, or if it was done away with in the New Testament covenant.

Speakers:

Angelo Austria (Seventh-Day Adventist)
Rev. Tony Costa (Reformed Baptist)

Note:
We have established that:

Saturday=Sabbath
Sunday = 1st day of the week

As both sides agree that there is no Biblical support for worship on Sunday. So to clear up any confusion, the question is whether one is morally obligated to keep the Sabbath holy, and not which day is the Sabbath.

Location: York University, Curtis Lecture Hall “L”

Building 26

Refreshments and fellowship to follow after.
Feel free to invite friends along.

Cost: Some of your time.
Parking: Try to carpool as there is limited free parking on Pond Road.  There are also various pay parking spots across campus.  Here are more details:

For the guests that are driving, there is one very close parking garage close to the CLH L lecture hall, Arboretum Parking Garage. On the Keele campus map it has the code “P 80” and is located along Arboretum lane. This parking garage is the closest in walking distance and has a flat rate of $7 on Saturdays. I suggest for guests to use this lot if they are unfamiliar with the campus.

For other guests who may want a cheaper rate, $5, there is the Founders Road East Lot (code “P 66”) that is on Founders Rd. and Steeles Ave. W. Again, for guests who are unfamiliar with the campus, they may not want to use this lot because it is a ways walk and they may have trouble finding the lecture hall.

    If God wrote it in stone with His own finger, no man has the authority to change it. There is no commandment to recognize any other day but Saturday as the Sabbath and only that day is Blesses and Holy. Why else would God remind have to remind us to REMEMBER it!
